As part of the ongoing research and education efforts in Mexico , IEMANYA kicked off a new program  in January 2004 in which the public can donate old laptops to IEMANYA OCEANICA. The laptop's full  market value is a tax write-off for US citizens. IEMANYA donates the laptops to qualified Mexican  undergraduate and graduate students studying sharks and shark fisheries. Laptop donations contribute  to the education and empowerment of Mexico 's brightest marine biologists in their shark research,  management and conservation efforts.
